Follow this steps below to install the Hyper-V integration services in Ubuntu and derivatives.

  1. Check if the services are already installed. If they are, skip this procedure. Hint; check the last line in the pic below.
    # lsmod


  2. Edit the modules file.
    # sudo vi /etc/initramfs-tools/modules

  3. Add the following lines to the end of the file, then save and exit.
    hv_vmbus
    hv_storvsc
    hv_blkvsc
    hv_netvsc

  4. Run initramfs.
    # sudo update-initramfs –u

  5. Reboot.

  6. Run lsmod again, see step 1, to confirm that the modules have been loaded.

  7. Done.
